All SSAIS 2013 Attendees May Networking in SSBC's LinkedIn Group
Dear Colleagues,

On Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 the Southern States Business Coalition (SSBC) hosts its 2013 Alternative Investment Symposium at the Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Resort, Birmingham Alabama.

Born out of the incredibly successful Alternative Investment Roundup that the executives at SSBC designed, developed and ran each February in Arizona from 1997 through 2008, this events brings some of the country’s (and if not the world's) leading Plan Sponsors, Institutional Investors, and Alternative Investment professionals to the South.

Leveraging the knowledge, experience and contacts of the Advisory Board, plus the knowledge, contacts and experience of the executives at SSBC (each year the Arizona event attracted more than 130 Institutional Investors representing over $2 Trillion in investible assets), the content and faculty of the event is world-class.

Designed primarily for Institutional Investors, Plan Sponsors, Endowments and Foundations that are based in the South and active or interested in Alternative Investing Strategies, SSAIS 2013 is an educational and networking environment that will provide attendees and sponsors alike with the kind of information and contacts they need to succeed.

As a past Trustee and Chair of the Alternative Investment Committee at LACERS I am exceedingly familiar with the risks, rewards and trade-offs of investing in alternatives. I am also familiar with the need for many Plan Sponsors to attend these types of events via a full cost recovery registration fee, and hence our Plan Sponsor registration fees range from complimentary to $375.00.

Today, more than ever, it is vital that as CIO's, Investment Officers, and Trustees, we fully understand the evolving alternative space as we confront issues such as:
The Evolving Relationship Between General & Limited Partners in Today's Institutional Marketplace
What Constitutes Alternative Investing in Today’s Capital Markets?
Best Practices in Building and Structuring an Alternatives Portfolio
Developing, Structuring & Managing Direct Investment Programs
Finding Truly Non-Correlated Return Streams as Hedge Funds Continue to Blur the Lines
Accessing the Best Performing Funds
The Outlook for Realizations Based Upon the Outlook for Current and Future Liquidity
The Role of Secondary Interests in PE Portfolios
Which Alternative Asset Classes Should Produce the Best Returns Over the Next 5 Years

Plus much more.

It is my great pleasure to work on this event with such a distinguished Advisory Board. On behalf of my colleagues, I invite you to join us at SSAIS 2013 for what promises to be a very enlightening conference. Attendance is complimentary for approved Plan Sponsors and Institutional Investors, while group discounts are available for funds and professional service providers active in the Alternative Investment space.

I look forward to meeting you on March 3rd, 2013, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Sincerely,

Shelley Ilene Smith
Advisory Board & Conference Chair

P.S. A limited number of Sponsorship & Exhibition opportunities remain.
